I am a very proud graduate of DCCC. I believe that my experience at this college launched my successful academic journey. The supportive faculty I encountered at DCCC inspired me to be curious, questioning and excited about the life-long process of learning. I feel fortunate to return to the college in the role of professor. My goals are to join with students on their educational journeys and to support them as they work to achieve success.

Scholarly Interests
- I am very interested in families where the primary caregivers are not the biological parents. For 9 years I worked collaboratively with faculty at Widener University and other social workers at Family and Community Service of Delaware County creating and coordinating an annual conference focused on Grandparent Headed Households. This conference was unique in that it provided a full day of professional continuing education workshops with well known keynote speakers along with workshops focused on the needs of the grandparents who were raising grandchildren. This highly successful professional collaboration set the stage for my ongoing interest in the benefits of working collaboratively.
- I have recently completed a Temple University post-grad certification program focused on Teaching in Higher Education. This program provided me with a vast array of literature that supports my student centered teaching style and the opportunity to learn more about Integrated Course Design. It also provided me with many resources that have enhanced my current collaborative teaching and learning work with DCCC faculty from other academic disciplines.
- My other scholarly areas of interest include: the developmental stages of adolescence, the impact of addiction on individuals, families and communities and human motivation.
