Cost of Attendance
Financial Aid Awarding begins by creating standard cost of attendance (COA) budgets for all students. These budgets reflect modest yet adequate expenses for Delaware County Community College students. DCCC will calculate undergraduate student COA to reflect the total cost for the school year., which is compromised of the fall and spring semesters (summer is separate). All students can view their specific cost of attendance on their financial aid offer emailed to them or on the DCCC delaGATE portal in the Award Overview tab.
The cost of attending DCCC or any College or University is more than just tuition. There are direct costs, such as tuition and fees that are paid to the College, and there are indirect costs that students and families will pay as a result of attending college such as, housing and meals, transportation, and other personal expenses. The combination of direct costs and indirect costs make up the cost of attendance used by Financial Aid Offices to determine eligibility for financial aid funding. Awards included on a financial aid offer are grants, scholarships, loans, work-study, and scholarships from private organizations. The total of all awards cannot exceed the cost of attendance.
