New Music Concert Series at Delaware County Community College Presents Marianne Parker and Megan Ihnen May 4
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA - April 25) — Mezzo-soprano Megan Ihnen and pianist Marianne Parker will present a concert exploring personal growth, evolving roles in life, and the unwavering forward motion amid uncertainty that exists in that space on Thursday, May 4 at 5 p.m. at Delaware County Community College’s Marple Campus (901 South Media Line Road, Media, PA 19063). The concert will also be livestreamed on Zoom.
The performance, which is the final offering in the College’s Spring New Music Concert Series, will take place in the Large Auditorium in the Academic Building. Ihnen has collaborated with individuals and ensembles around the globe, including International Contemporary Ensemble, Fifth House Ensemble, Great Noise Ensemble, Rhymes With Opera, and Synchromy. Parker’s playing has been described as, “a cut above...her sympathetic fingers offering well-sculpted phrases and impassioned pealing” (Chicago Classical Review). Her work can be heard on three albums, Pages intimes (2019), Pyano Sa (2020), and Currents in Time (2020).
Each semester, Delaware County Community College students and residents of the Delaware County region have access to concerts featuring the world's top musicians right in their own backyard. The series highlights the expansive musical experience available in the 21st century, presenting virtuosic and innovative musicians from around the globe.
Tickets are $10 general admission, and free to students. For tickets, visit dccc.edu/concerts.
