Info Session for Art Institute of Philadelphia Students August 1
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA • July 19, 2018)—Delaware County Community College invites students who were enrolled at the Art Institute of Philadelphia to attend an information/registration session on Wednesday, August 1 between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 5 to 7 p.m. in the Art Gallery (Room 2305) on the Marple Campus (901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA). Key staff members, including deans and faculty, will be on hand to answer questions and help students enroll for the fall semester. Attendees should bring a copy of their transcript. There is no application fee.
The College offers a variety of parallel programs, including associate degrees or certificates in Game Development, Interactive Multimedia, Web Development and Web Programming. An Associate in Fine Arts (AFA) program in Graphic Design, Photography and Studio Art is also available. The program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art & Design, making it one of only 14 community college AFA programs nationwide to have earned this distinction. Led by award-winning artists, the program allows students to achieve a general education core while producing a strong visual arts portfolio and corresponds to the first two years of study at a university, enabling students to attain the necessary tools, knowledge and critical thinking skills to transfer successfully to the institution of their choice.
Culinary Arts is also a focus at the College, with both an Associate in Applied Science degree and certificate program available. The Culinary Arts program is led by Chef Peter Gilmore and offers two locations—one in Delaware County at Widener University through a special partnership between the two institutions, and one in Chester County at the College’s Brandywine Campus (455 Boot Road, Downingtown, PA).
