College Hosting Art Exhibition through December 16, Opening Reception Thursday, November 17
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA • November 16, 2022)—The Gallery at Delaware County Community College presents the annual 215/610 CONTEMPORARY Juried Exhibition, featuring 39 pieces from regional emerging artists living and working in and around the Philadelphia region, from November 14 through December 16.
The free exhibition is juried by Alex Klein, Dorothy and Stephen R. Weber (CHE ’60) Senior Curator at the Institute of Contemporary Art Philadelphia. The purpose of the exhibition, located in the Art Gallery (Room 2305 in the Academic Building on the College’s Marple Campus, 901 S. Media Line Road, Media), is to showcase local emerging contemporary artists and create a platform for critical discourse through an exchange of ideas.
In addition to the exhibition, there will be a Juror’s Talk and Opening Reception Thursday, November 17. The Juror’s Talk, featuring Alex Klein, will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Large Auditorium, Academic Building. Klein will discuss her personal work and practice. It is free and open to the public; please register on Ticketleap. The Exhibition Reception will be from 5 to 7 pm in the Art Gallery, Room 2305, Academic Building.
The Gallery at Delaware County Community College hosts up to five visual art exhibitions each year, showcasing the work of students as well as professional artists of national and international reputation. In addition to exhibitions, artists are periodically invited to hold lectures, collaborative projects and workshops for the College community and the public.
