Earn a Medical Billing Certificate in Two Semesters

(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA)—Has a career in healthcare always interested you? Do you want to learn how healthcare claims are paid or understand the financial aspects of healthcare? Do all this and more in Delaware County Community College’s six-course Medical Billing Certificate program. Begin the program online during our accelerated winter session and finish it at our Exton Center (906 & 912 Springdale Drive, Exton, PA) during the spring semester.
Medical Billing is a popular career option for allied health professionals who wish to work in medical offices, hospitals, clinics, skilled-care facilities or insurance companies. In an accelerated and hybrid format, students can earn a certificate in Medical Billing by taking two courses during our accelerated winter session and then four courses in the spring
During the accelerated winter session (December 10 through January 11), students will take two fully online courses: AHM 233 Medical Terminology and DPR 100 Introduction to Information Technology. In the spring semester, which runs from January 14 until May 20, students will take four courses at the College’s Exton Center:
- AHM 130 Medical for Allied Health, Tuesday nights from 5 to 6 p.m.
- AHM 241 Medical Billing, Tuesday nights 6 to 8 p.m.
- AHM 102 Introduction to Healthcare and Health Information, Tuesday nights 8 to 9 p.m.
- AHM 185 Medical Office Management, Thursday nights from 6 to 9 p.m.
Upon successful completion of this program, students are eligible to take the Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CRMS) exam through the American Medical Billing Association. Courses taken in this program often transfer to other certificate and degree programs at Delaware County Community College for students wishing to continue their education.
