(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA)— Reserve your seat now for a free career information session on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at 7 p.m. in the STEM Center at Delaware County Community College’s Marple Campus (901 S. Media Line Road, Media). The session will cover a variety of careers in the Healthcare, Information Technology and Construction Trade fields, and College representatives will be on hand to answer all of your questions and provide overview material.
This is your opportunity to become acquainted with the many non-credit career preparation courses that start soon and continue through the summer. You can prepare for a new career such as Pharmacy Technician (6/26), which will train you to enter the field as an ancillary working under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, or Dialysis Technician (6/25), which explores the operation of kidney-dialysis machines for renal-failure patients, under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
Dental Assistant (6/4) familiarizes students with a dental office, treatment and patient management. Your skill development and training in radiology combines lectures at the Marple Campus with practicums at the Dental Training Center in Exton.
Venipuncture (Phlebotomy Tech) (6/25) teaches basic venipuncture techniques for adults, children and infants as it prepares you to take the phlebotomy exam, while Electrocardiograph (EKG) Technician (8/20) provides information on anatomy of the heart, physiology, disease processes and medical terminology, and includes practice with equipment and hands-on lab experience.
Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS®) Prep (5/29) for nursing students reviews all components of the TEAS® exam, including math, reading strategies, vocabulary, science, critical thinking skills and test-taking strategies.
Details will also be available and your questions answered concerning Information Technology courses that include Computer Forensics, Networking, Operating Systems, Web Design and many others, as well as Construction Trade courses specializing in Electrical, HVAC, Welding and more.
To reserve a seat for this event, call 610-359-7344, or e-mail madams15@dccc.edu. A second information session transitioning to fall-semester courses will be held on Thursday, August 2, at 7 p.m. at this same location.
