New Music Concert Series Presents Jonathan Hays and Jeremy Gill

(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA)—Don’t miss the launch of Delaware County Community College’s New Music Concert Series on Sunday, April 15, 2012, at 3 p.m. This free performance features a duet by pianist Jeremy Gill and baritone Jonathan Hays and will be held in the Large Auditorium of the Academic Building at the Marple Campus (901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA).
From Handel’s Messiah and Mozart’s Don Giovanni to contemporary works by Britten, Hindemith, and Bloch, and the educational programs of Rob Kapilow to Pops concerts featuring hits from the Great American Songbook, baritone Jonathan Hays exhibits extraordinary breadth of vocal flexibility and interpretive expression. A frequent guest of symphony orchestras all over North America, Hays is renowned as an interpreter of contemporary music. He has played with organizations including the American Symphony Orchestra, Toronto Symphony, Eos Orchestra, Colorado Symphony, Musica Viva, and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. He is currently the Visiting Instructor of Voice at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa., and is on the voice faculty of Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Jeremy Gill is a conductor, composer, and pianist whose activities cover a remarkably broad range of musical styles and types. During the 2010-11 season, he enjoyed performances of his music in New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Harrisburg, and appeared as conductor with Ensemble CMN in premieres by composers Suzanne Sorkin, Gene Coleman, and Richard Belcastro, and the Dolce Suono Ensemble in a premiere by Fang Man featuring bass-baritone Eric Owens. As a pianist, he accompanied recitals by flutist Mimi Stillman and mezzo-soprano Maren Montalbano and performed alongside pianist Feifei Zhang in selections from Messiaen's Visions de l'amen.
