STEM Division
Our Facilities & Technology
STEM Scholarships

Programs at every level

Our wide range of programs, taught by dedicated faculty who are experts in their fields, includes short-term certificates and associate degrees that allow easy transfer to four-year schools. Whether you want to take the first steps toward a bachelor’s degree, prepare to enter today’s high-growth fields now or just take a few courses to upgrade your job skills, there’s an option for you in the STEM division at Delaware County Community College.

Combining theoretical instruction with laboratory experience and the use of the latest technologies, our courses range from general survey classes to advanced-level courses that transfer to four-year institutions. They are the same quality as those you’ll find at the region’s four-year colleges and universities.

Our accomplished faculty members bring to the classroom a combination of professional experience and advanced academic study. Best of all, they are committed to helping you succeed, wherever you are in your life and career.

Our facilities are top-notch. We offer our mathematics, science and engineering classes in the brand-new STEM Center, which opened in 2010 and contains state-of-the-art laboratories and the most advanced technology to enhance learning.

Courses at all levels

We’ll place you in the courses that are right for you – from basic to advanced – so you can build your skills and knowledge one step at a time. If you’re not ready for college-level work, we’ll help you get there. If you’re ready to be challenged, we offer advanced courses that will transfer easily to four-year institutions.

Support services

The College offers a wide range of support services to help you succeed in the classroom, including tutoring, the Learning Commons and our Student Resource Center. Our staff is here to support you and help you reach your goals for your education – and your STEM career.

Technical Education

Delaware County Community College is a regional leader in technical education. Whether you’re training for your first job or retraining for a better one, you’ll find the programs, faculty, facilities and technology to give you the skills you need for today’s – and tomorrow’s – technical careers.

Our offerings range from the traditional skilled trades – automotive, electronics, HVAC systems, plumbing and welding – to high-tech engineering technology, all of which support the region’s industries with today’s in-demand highly skilled employees.

The College is especially well known for its engineering technology programs, including computer-aided drafting and design, power utility technology, electronics, nanofabrication, industrial systems, machine tool technology and more. These programs produce highly regarded graduates who are in great demand in the regional workforce.

Given today’s focus on green technologies and renewable energy, the College is developing new courses such as PV Solar, Weatherization, Green Roof Construction and Geothermal Heating and Cooling Systems. We expect to add more green technology courses and to “green” our course offerings in the building trades and manufacturing, so our students will be prepared to fill these emerging career opportunities.

In the technical fields, the College offers programs leading to the associate in applied science degree (link 2.3.1) as well as professional certifications and certificates of competency and proficiency (link 2.4.1). These programs prepare you to meet the needs of local industries, or to continue your technical education to the next level.

For local businesses, we offer on-site career degree programs and on-site customized training to meet your workforce training needs.
Many of the College’s technical education programs are offered at the new Advanced Technology Center, which features advanced laboratories and state-of-the-art equipment in fields such as composite materials, industrial systems and machining.

We offer programs for students of all kinds:

Are you interested in earning your bachelor’s degree?
The College offers college and university transfer programs. Earn your associate degree in two years at DCCC and then transfer to a four-year institution to complete your bachelor’s degree. In the process, you’ll save thousands of dollars while getting the same top-quality education!

Ready to train for a good job now?
We offer career-track associate degree programs that will prepare you now for one of today’s in-demand jobs.

Do you want to improve your current skills and/or move ahead at work?
Classes in STEM fields are open to students in all our degree and certificate programs, as well as to those who simply want to take a course or two to improve their skills.

Returning to school after a break?
Delaware County Community College offers many support services designed to assist non-traditional students’ return to school. New Student Orientation helps you with the transition to college. To make your schedule fit your life, search our course schedule for classes that meet during the day, evening and on weekends as well as Online and Hybrid Learning classes.

The College’s New Choices Career Development Program is a free service that helps single parents, displaced homemakers and individuals in career transition achieve economic security and self-sufficiency.
