Some programs or circumstances require a special process for admissions. Check below to see if you need to submit additional materials or follow a unique procedure for admission.

+ High School Students

Today, entrance into college is more competitive than ever. Earning college credit while you’re still in high school will help make your application stand out. It not only shows that you are a dedicated, committed student, but it also proves that you are ready to succeed at the college level.

+ International Students

The College issues the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Form I-20 to qualified individuals who wish to obtain F-1 visa status for full-time study. The College also welcomes students on other visas. Take a moment to review our international admissions procedures.

+ Non-High School Graduates Age 19 and Older

If you do not have a high school diploma or GED and are 19 years of age or older, we can consider you for enrollment on a part-time basis. To pursue this opportunity, you should:

  • Interview with a member of our Admissions staff
  • Complete a Petition for Admission of Non-High School Graduate
  • Submit a completed Application for Admission

It is important to note that students without a high school diploma or GED are not eligible for Federal financial aid, even if admitted to the College.

+ Plumbing Apprenticeship

Students interested in the plumbing apprenticeship should call 610-359-5050 for admission procedures.

+ Municipal Police Academy

The minimum age for admission into the Municipal Police Academy is 18. You must be a U.S. citizen. Admission to the program is on a first-come, first-served basis, and class size is limited. In order to ensure the safety of students, the College and the general public, we have instituted entrance requirements for students seeking admission to the Academy, as described under PA Legislative Act 120:

  • Physical Fitness Test
  • Psychological evaluation
  • Delaware County Community College placement test
  • Health examination
  • Criminal background check
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Valid automobile driver’s license
  • Certified Driver's Check
  • United States Citizenship

Application procedure

  • Complete the Municipal Police Academy registration form: Download the form
    ~  Call 610-359-7386 to obtain the form
      ~  Send an email and provide your name and address to receive an information packet and registration form
  • Applicants will be advised of dates for pre-admission testing
  • Results of the testing will be mailed to applicants and will include the start date of classes; dress code requirements; and billing information

+ Visiting Students

Delaware County Community College (DCCC) defines "visiting students" as individuals who are matriculated (enrolled) at another college or university and wish to enroll at the College for courses that will transfer back to their current (i.e., home) institution. To enroll at our College as a visiting student, please follow the enrollment steps outlined at dccc.edu/visiting.

Allied Health and Nursing

 
+ Nursing

To apply for admission to the Nursing Program (RN), you should:

  • Attend an information session. To find out about upcoming sessions, visit the Admissions Events calendar.
  • Follow the instructions as outlined in the Nursing Entrance Requirements Packet- Fall 2025.
  • After attending an information session and completing the nursing pre-requisite requirements as listed in the nursing packet, petition for the program by visiting dccc.edu/apply. *You must have previously completed the general application for admission before you can submit your online petition.
+ Surgical Technology

If you would like to apply for admission to the Surgical Technology program, you must:

  • Attend an information session. To find out about upcoming sessions, see the Admissions Event calendar.
  • Follow the instructions as outlined in the Surgical Technology Entrance Requirements Packet - Fall 2025.
  • After attending an information session and completing any surgical technology pre-requisite requirements as listed in the surgical technolgy packet, petition for the program by visiting dccc.edu/apply. *You must have previously completed the general application for admission before you can submit your online petition.

Emergency Services

+ Paramedic

The College has instituted the following admissions criteria for individuals seeking enrollment in the Paramedic-Advanced Life Support program:

  • Either be a current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification (Pennsylvania or National Registry) OR enroll in EMT class prior to or during the first semester in the program.
  • Current Healthcare Provider Level Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • Criminal background check
  • Clear child abuse background check
  • Take a medical physical examination and drug testing
  • Delaware County Community College placement test
  • Submit verification of current medical insurance
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
