Commercial Driver's License Program Puts Graduates to Work
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA • March 27, 2017)—Seventeen students recently graduated from Delaware County Community College’s new Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) training program, and 89 percent have already secured jobs and entered the workforce.
The 172-hour, four-week CDL Class A training program is offered at the College through CC Training, LLC, which specializes in focused, hands-on commercial driving training. The program provides students with the skills and competencies needed to successfully obtain a commercial driver’s license and to secure an entry-level position in commercial trucking.
“We’re thrilled at the job placement outcomes of this program, and the positive impact it’s had on local, regional and national employers and the lives of our graduates,” says Joe Fortunato, Vice President of Admissions for CC Training, LLC. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with Delaware County Community College to serve the needs of our students, their future employers and our communities.”
“We’re excited to have this opportunity to offer diverse continuing education programs that meet the demands of employers,” adds Karen Kozachyn, Dean of Workforce Development and Community Education at the College. “CC Training, LLC employs a hands-on, industry-modeled approach to learning, making this partnership an ideal match.”
The College’s Marple Campus (901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA) is also now certified as an official CDL third-party testing site. The College is one of only two testing sites in Delaware County and one of more than 100 in the state. As a certified testing site, individuals needing a Class A or B CDL can schedule and take their test at the College. Customized employee training, followed by CDL testing, is also available for local companies and organizations. Contact Dan York at 610-655-5058 for more information.
