Drone Pilot Flight Training Available This Summer
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA • May 15, 2018)—Whether you plan to use a drone for business or pleasure, learn to fly it like a pro at Delaware County Community College this summer. The hands-on training takes place July 21 and 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Marple Campus (901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA).
The College has partnered with DARTdrones, the nation’s leader in drone training and program development, to teach you all you need to know to legally fly a drone and prepare to take the Part 107 Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) drone pilot exam. The training is broken into two courses: “Learn to Fly Your Drone Like a Pro” and “Pass the Part 107 FAA Drone Pilot Exam.”
“Learn to Fly Your Drone Like a Pro” will teach you the ins-and-outs of legally flying drones and give you a chance to participate in hands-on flight sessions. An expert drone pilot will lead the class and be available to answer questions. The curriculum covers everything, including system set up, flight walkthrough, advanced settings and emergency situations and procedures.
“Pass the Part 107 FAA Drone Pilot Exam” will prepare you to take Part 107, the new FAA commercial drone regulation that allows drone pilots to fly Unmanned Aircraft Systems or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles for business purposes. To fly under Part 107, you need to pass the Airman Knowledge Test. The two-hour, 60-question test requires extensive studying, and this course teaches you everything you need to know and has a 99 percent pass rate.
Space is limited, so register now by calling 610-359-5025. The cost for drone training, which includes both courses and a DARTdrones swag bag, is $1,250.
