The College Offering Free, Virtual, Career Development with Training Opportunities Beginning June 7
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA • May 25, 2021)—New Choices, a free career development program at Delaware County Community College, helps people returning to work or looking for new, more rewarding careers to gain a competitive advantage in their career search, especially in the wake of the devastating economic impacts of COVID-19. And, the good news is that there are many job openings in Delaware and Chester Counties.
Starting June 7, New Choices will provide a free, one-week, virtual synchronous, online format class. A career counselor guides participants through topics including resume writing, interview communication, using LinkedIn and determining career goals—all in a supportive environment. New Choices graduates also receive free Microsoft Office refresher classes in person and are informed of other free and low-cost training opportunities.
In addition, the College’s laptop loan program provides students, who may have technology barriers, with access to classes and with the use of a computer for their job search. Classes are supplemented by one-on-one Zoom sessions with an instructor to help participants create an effective training plan or job search strategy.
New Choices sessions start June 7 and will continue online through the summer during the second week of each month. For more information, or to register, call 610-359-5232 or email newchoices@dccc.edu.
