Delaware County Community College Student Awarded Lockheed Martin Vocational Scholarship
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA - October 12, 2023) - Delaware County Community College student Michael Jordan has been awarded a $5,000 Vocational Scholarship from Lockheed Martin, a global security and aerospace corporation.
Jordan, a resident of Delaware County, is pursuing a Web Programming Certificate at the College. He is a career changer who is pursuing a lifelong interest in working with and programming computers.
The Lockheed Martin Vocational Scholarship Program, a critical component of Lockheed Martin’s investment in workforce development and education, supports students of all ages participating in skills-based training in engineering, technology and advanced manufacturing fields. Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic performance, work experience, career and educational goals and objectives, as well as other qualifications.
Delaware County Community College’s Web Programming Certificate is designed to prepare students to be entry-level web developers or for further study in computer programming or web development. It emphasizes popular object-oriented programming languages as well as web development tools and techniques used in business today.
In addition to Web Programming, the College offers certificates in Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Interactive Multimedia, and Network Engineering. The College also offers Associate of Applied Science degree programs in Cloud Computing, Information Technology, Computer Programming; Information Technology, Game Development; Information Technology, Help Desk/Technical Support; Information Technology, Network Engineering; Information Technology, Web Development; and Interactive Computing.
