Delaware County Community College Hosts Art Exhibition Through Dec. 15 with Special Juror’s Talk Nov. 28
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA - November 8, 2023)—The Gallery at Delaware County Community College presents the annual 215/610 CONTEMPORARY Juried Exhibition, featuring the work of emerging artists living and working in and around the Greater Philadelphia region.
The 2023 exhibition will be presented in the College Art Gallery on the College’s Marple Campus (901 South Media Line Road, Media, PA 19063) from Nov. 13 through Dec. 15. It is juried by artist and educator Mark Thomas Gibson, a Philadelphia-based visual artist working in drawing, painting, print and sculpture. He was awarded a 2022 Guggenheim Fellowship and a Louis Comfort Tiffany Biennial Grant.
The purpose of the juried exhibition is to showcase local emerging contemporary artists, create a platform for critical discourse through an exchange of ideas, and push the boundaries of an age-old practice. On Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 4 p.m., Gibson will discuss his personal work and practice in a special Juror’s Talk which is free and open to the public and will be presented both in-person and with a virtual option. The Gallery at Delaware County Community College hosts up to five visual art exhibitions each year, showcasing the work of students as well as professional artists of national and international reputation. In addition to exhibitions, artists are periodically invited to hold lectures, collaborative projects and workshops for the College community and the public.
